I'm still into my "nature energy measurement" phase. http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2013/05/reading-natures-energy.html So today, my first impression of nature's energy was that of strong contrasts. One moment the sun was shinning brilliantly, the next moment dark clouds had moved in. I could walk through pockets of warm currents, that suddenly change to cold winds. Part of my recent "take the pulse of nature" experimentation includes observing what animals are doing. While delivering hay today I watched one horse obviously try to pick a fight with her brother. It was pretty clearly unprovoked. The Blue Jays were out and about this morning as well, making their presence known http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2011/10/animal-signs-blue-jay.html Oh, that kind of a day I figured. A day of conflict with no clear winners?
In my opinion, we are very affected by nature's energy. I believe the contrasting intensities of today could cause some unsettled behavior. To find the balance in the contrasting energy, a number of Bach Flower essences might help. The most obvious would be Beech, Scleranthus, Wild Oat and Holly.
Beech would be a good essence to take if you really felt like taking a chunk out of someone "just because". Maybe their hay crunching sounds are just ticking you off today, or you don't like the way they are standing. If you've responded to contrasts of light and dark, warm and cold, cloud and sun by feeling a bit irritated and intolerant of the changes, Beech is a good essence for you.
When weather patterns are staying constant and nature seems in flux, a lot of people have a hard time to find their point of integration. It's hard to decide between what your left brain tells you is the right and logical thing to do, and what your right brain tells you would feel right. You leave the house with a raincoat on because you can see those clouds and you read the forecast, and yet you feel more like it's a sandals and t-shirt kind of day. Scleranthus can help when you can't make those simple decisions. If you are bouncing back and forth between opinions, ideas, thoughts and actions, Scleranthus can help you find a settled balance. Might be a good remedy to have on hand today.
When nature is swinging a bit through intense contrasts, there can be a tendency to respond with real internal uncertainty in my opinion. This goes beyond the indecision of Scleranthus where you can't figure out how to choose between two things. In a Wild Oat frame of mind you can't find any direction. Everything seems possible and nothing feels right. It's the "spin your wheels" state where you flip from project to project without finishing any, or you just sit in a daze unclear where to start. If you're around other people when this state kicks in, you might just find yourself in conflict without even realizing how you got there or which side you want to take! Wild Oat can help you pick a clear path and stick to it.
If your feelings tend to be stronger than mild intolerance or irritation, and you feel down right bad-tempered and suffering with nature's contrasts, Holly might be a good essence for you. Conflict often develops because of feelings of jealousy, envy and insecurity. That's where Holly can help. If you find yourself arguing everywhere you go today it might be because you really are feeling quite insecure. If you're rising to the intensity of the day by engaging in conflict, perhaps fighting your way to convince yourself you're right, Holly might help you find that inner harmony.
Today is the kind of day when people in casual conversations say things like, "the sun is sure trying to shine out there", or "I think those clouds are going to win over- looks like rain". I guess this type of energy can put people at odds with each other. However, as I continued in my musings, I realize the idea of conflict is not something from nature- at least not in my opinion. That's a human (and perhaps horse!) interpretation from nature's energy. But maybe, if I follow along on my musings, and use the energy nature presents to match with human behaviors, I need to look a bit deeper than what seems immediately obvious. This doesn't have to be a day of conflicts or irritation. Nor does it need to be a day of avoiding conflicts. Instead it might just be a day of strong contrasts. It might just a day of power.
The sun just shines. Every day it shines whether there are clouds in front of it or not. It's truly in the sense of "being". I don't think the sun actually cares if a cloud passes by or not. Nothing about the sun or it's internal actions change just because clouds roll over or park themselves directly in front of it. Kind of like my more self-assured horse, the sun could care less rather the clouds are "trying to pick a fight" or not. As his sister tried to egg him on, and threatened to take a bite out of his neck, he had no reaction. Just kept eating. Just kept "being". She gave up and moved on. He didn't really care about that either.
I don't think the clouds are trying to "take over" anything either. I think the clouds themselves are "just being", perhaps happy to allow the wind to move them to "wherever". Not in an uncaring way, but in a trus in all outcomes, way. They too are just "being". I don't believe there is a battle going on in nature. In fact, it's more of an equal balance between light and dark and within each there is power. The Blue Jay I saw today wasn't bullying anyone or fighting. Perhaps he was just a sign that today can be a strong day to do whatever feels and is right. And maybe it's a good day to do things that even seem to be in opposition.
I think nature is suggesting you can harness this power to do whatever you want to do today, and perhaps accomplish multiple things in seamless transition. It might be a good day to focus internally if you have that luxury and really do some self-directed actions. If you do find yourself with "group projects" just being aware that others may try to take a chunk out of you can help you avoid the conflict and recognize the power in contrasts.
Enjoy the power!

Animal Signs: Reindeer
Judging by the amount of hits my post last year on Rudolph the Reindeer has been getting lately, http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2011/12/reindeer-bullies-bach-flowers-for.html it seems as though a lot of people are thinking about reindeer. I guess it is the season. Or at least getting close.
When a lot of people become focused on the same thing I think "the thing" is worth examining a bit. So I decided it would be a good day to look at the spirit of Reindeer as an animal sign that might be providing us humans with some welcome direction.
It would seem some flexibility is required here. Reindeer wasn't exactly listed in my Animal Spirit Guide books. But Caribou are. And if I saw anything like the critter in today's picture, at this time of year, I would call her a Reindeer. I hope that wouldn't be insulting to the Caribou- I mean it as a term of endearment and respect of the season. And I think they probably share pretty similar Spirit.
As is often the case, when an Animal Spirit shows up in your life, the significance can still be somewhat open to your perspective and interpretation. In Steven Farmer's Animal Spirit Guides, there seem to be five somewhat different messages that may apply depending on your situation.
1. Farmer writes that a reindeer (well okay, Caribou) showing up "may indicate it's time for you to make a decision and act with resolve." He suggests you consider it a symbol to make the decision, stick with it, and take appropriate action. Hmm...
That's pretty good advice "when the shift hits the fan" I think http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2012/11/when-shift-hits-fan.html It might be interesting to note that in the Caribou clan, unlike reindeer actually, both males and females have antlers. There obviously (if you are a Caribou/Reindeer) are other ways to distinguish male and female! but it's not by looking at their heads. As the shift occurs and we embrace and become connected to the feminine aspect of being human, we might still need to pay attention to our masculine side as well. It isn't a competition, it's a balance to be obtained. http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2012/03/energetic-tug-of-war.html And if you're going to make a decision, stay with it, and take action, I believe you might want to tap into your masculine side a bit.
2. Farmer also writes the appearance of reindeer/caribou may indicate "something is bugging you, and you need to address whatever it is and either try and change, it, get away from it, or surrender to it. " Perhaps that's what you need to make the decision about. Seems like Reindeer energy is about not maintaining status quo, but about enabling change to happen. That means facing up to your negative side, or the negative things in your life so that shifts can occur. It's not about ignoring them, sugar coating them, or pretending they don't exist. It's about facing them and creating change.
3. Steven Farmer suggests when a Caribou shows up it means; "There is solidarity and camaraderie among the people you know and trust, which is something your soul is yearning for at this time, so indulge yourself and seek out these folks. " This is a time to focus on and surround yourself with those people that make you feel good and shift away from people and situations that don't match with where and who you want to be. Hmm...
4. According to Farmer, the Caribou may indicate "the long emotional and spiritual trek you've been on is about to conclude.". He goes on to write that "once it does you'll reap the rewards, benefits and pleasures of having done it. " More reinforcement to stick with your path and keep moving forward secure in the belief that the shift is for positive gain even if slightly uncomfortable along the way.
5. Finally, the message from Caribou Spirit may be, "although your journey may seem rather lengthy, as long as you seek the support you need, you will succeed." Caribou are herd animals. Santa has a team of reindeer and even though Rudolph may be shining up there in front, there is a whole team following behind her pulling that sleigh full of gifts. Rudolph doesn't "go it alone". Find your herd and don't be afraid to get other people to pull their weight too.
If you need a little help pulling the Reindeer/Caribou signs into your life, the Bach remedy combination that could help might include Agrimony, Scleranthus, Cerato, Water Violet and Gentian.
I'd recommend Agrimony so you could come out behind that mask you're putting up to pretend everything is okay. A few drops of Agrimony might help you face that "yucky" situation that really is bugging you when you're honest with yourself.
Once you're facing the issue head on, a few drops of Scleranthus might help you pick a direction and go with it. If you have no idea how to proceed ,Wild Oat might be more helpful, but I have an idea "when the shift hits the fan", if you're honest, you'll see two directions. Pick one.
Once you've picked the direction, Cerato can help you trust yourself, your decision, and your inner knowing in order to follow through and stick to the plan when those other reindeer from the other side of the river are trying to pull you over and across thin ice.
Once you've made your decision, picked your direction and want to stick to it, you might find out you could use a few more members on your team. That sleigh can be pretty heavy even if it's full of great things. Water Violet can help you reach out to others, accepting help and reinforcement.
Finally, the trek through the cosmos can get kind of dark by times even when you know you're heading towards the light. A few drops of Gentian might help restore your conviction that the reindeer really do bring the message that the journey is about to end with positive results.
So.. if you think your hear the thunder of hooves behind you these days, consider that it just might be a team of Caribou disguised as Reindeer, or Reindeer disguised as Caribou - it doesn't really matter. They are likely pulling a whole sleigh of wonderful gifts right to you. Make way for the wonder.
And, in the meantime, if you could use the Reindeer Remedy of Agrimony, Scleranthus, Cerato, Water Violet, and Gentian, go to my website www.pixiedusthealing.com It's had some shifting as well and has a new look. Send me a message and indicate you'd like a Reindeer Remedy and I'll send it ahead of the herd.
Enjoy the Spirit!

Animal Signs: Goat
It feels like we are still a bit under the influence of the Capricorn moon, http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2012/07/full-moon-in-capricorn-balancing-work.html at least in my part of the world. The air is charged with a thick heavy energy, there is lots of solar storm activity, and people seem rather intense, yet tired at the same time. Lots of people are complaining about dizzy spells and feeling off balance. It feels like a thunder storm is brewing that just might change the air- literally as well as figuratively.
Capricorn is symbolized by the goat. Someone sent me today's picture of a happy goat a long time ago, and today felt like a good day to share it.
In "Animal Spirit Guides", Steven Farmer writes you should:
Farmer also writes that when a goat shows up it means you should consider your relationships and pick carefully who you want to spend time with. Goats are messengers to tell you to trust your sense and intuition over your rational and logical mind. Seems to me when you fit that sense to trust intuition and try to follow your logical brain, you can end up very disconnected and more than a little dizzy. http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2011/02/dr-jill-bolte-taylor-brain-integration.html
Goats are known for butting heads. They have the horns, the bone structure, and the skills to do this. Humans.. not so much. So, according to Farmer, the appearance of the goat could be a signal to stop butting your head against the wall. Stop trying to get through to someone that just doesn't "get it". Give up and give your head a rest! That alone, might help dispel the dizziness!
Goats are great climbers. They maneuver impossible looking mountain slopes with ease. Goat energy is symbolic of that ability to move forward step by step, moving around and over the obstacles, never slipping as you climb upward. That step by step focus might be particularly helpful as we feel our way through the heavy energy, the solar flares, and the changing times.
Capricorn energy can be pretty serious. That might be the intensity we're feeling these days. The lesson is to balance that hard working, reaching for the goal energy with some light hearted time spent in nature. Just look at the goat in today's picture and try to take life seriously!!
There are a couple of Bach Flower essences that can be helpful in this somewhat dizzying times. Scleranthus might be very useful to find that integration required from the right and the left side of the brain that brings balance in the middle. It can be helpful for motion sickness and dizzy spells. It also helps when you are bouncing back and forth between thoughts, ideas, or tasks.
http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2011/07/grasshopper-restlessness-scleranthus.html
Rock Water might be a Bach Flower to consider if you are feeling the heavy weight of a serious "stuff". http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2011/06/bach-flowers-for-pitta-dosha.html Rock Water can help you find a bit of flexibility to relax and let go if you've become over-conscientious and still not satisfied with your achievements. Goats don't take the straight path up the mountain. They weave all around and seem flexible as to how they might get to where they want to go. They reach the goal because they focus on exactly where they are minute to minute.
Hornbeam is another Bach Flower essence to consider if you're feeling "goat energy" around you. Capricorns are particularly good at taking on big projects and working with great determination towards the end point. But if that project you've agreed to take on is feeling so overwhelming you're not quite sure where to start, a few drops of Hornbeam might get you started People that can benefit from Hornbeam often suffer from overwork. So perhaps, again the message, is to relax, allow, and go smell the roses http://pixiedusthealing.blogspot.ca/2012/06/wild-rose-summer.html before taking on yet another project.
I guess the phrase for the day, when the world feel so heavy your head is spinning ,is "Lighten up People"!!
Enjoy the light...
