Time to "be"

I found myself in possession of a very rare and unusual thing today- time. I'm pretty good at spinning myself in multiple directions. I know all about "busy work" and typically have a lot of projects going all at once with at least one or two things that I am behind in. But something happened today...

I went to yoga class (always wonderful!), went for a long and enlightening coffee chat afterwards, picked up some groceries and came home. And then I realized- I had nothing I "had to do". Hit me like a ton of bricks because I can't really remember when or if I've ever had that feeling before- at least not since the age of 12 I'd guess- and that was a long time ago.

Now don't get me wrong. There were lots of things I "could and should" do. Anyone that knows me knows that I should always clean the house (because I rarely do and it shows), I could always shovel horse manure, or go for a walk, or start a new project, or get caught up with a multitude of books I'm readying- or update my blog. But while all those things were options, for the first time ever, I didn't feel like I "had" to do any of them.

It was a actually a bit of an unsettling feeling. It's no where near the same as "getting a moment to myself" or "figuring out what I should do next" or having a "minute to sit down with a cup of tea","having a chance to visit with a friend" or "having the time to read a good book"- it's not DOING anything and not even something I consciously did- it just happened. This is even different than meditating because the act of meditating in itself is "doing something". I think this is the stillness and being that Eckhert Tolle has been talking about in his books.

I'm not sure how or why this happened. I was in a pretty "zen" moment from yoga class. I have been taking "Perelandra Natural Aging" for a couple of weeks now and I do feel it has been allowing me to develop some mature insight so maybe that was it.

I couldn't stay in that space for long. It's actually a bit unnerving and I think something one needs to try out in small spaces. It does feel incredibly peaceful and is worth letting go to achieve.

Now that I have an idea of what it feels like I will "allow" (not try because it doesn't work like that!) it to happen more often. I highly recommend it!!

Natural Aging Product

If you visit my website http://www.pixiedusthealing.com/ you'll see I believe strongly in the Perelandra essence products. I think they address the concerns of the world we live in today and help balance us gently in physical, emotional and spiritual ways.

So it's exciting to me that Perelandra has developed a new product called "Natural Aging". This isn't an "anti-wrinkle, anti-cellulose, make you younger product. Personally I think we have more than enough of those! This is about helping you move through the natural stages of aging so that you can adjust accordingly and gain the insight you are meant to achieve along your path.

The following discription, plus the picture above is taken directly from the Perelandra website http://www.perelandra-ltd.com/ :

Although our pems levels — physical, emotional, mental and soul — embraces the opportunities that come our way with each aging stage, Natural Aging does not address specific illnesses or disease that might appear during any of the stages. However, by assisting our pems levels to operate and develop fully in each of the aging stages, the four pems levels are more fully strengthened and stabilized. This results in fewer instances of pems-level breakdown during any of the six stages and we have fewer physical, emotional and mental problems to deal with as we move through life.

If you'd like more information on this on any other Perelandra product visit their website or mine ( http://www.pixiedusthealing.com/ ) I'll be placing an order for Natural Aging to give it a try. I figure I can use all the balancing I can get!! If you'd like some, send me an email heather@pixiedusthealing.com

Kinesiology/Muscle Testing

Hard to believe it's the first of October. In my part of the world it certainly doesn't feel like that with tropical weather and humidity rather than the crunch of leaves underfoot while snuggling in a big sweater- my opinion of what fall is supposed to be!

So perhaps it's the weather, perhaps it's lingering effects of Cold-fx!, but I was feeling rather unsettled and unsure what to write today. I decided to go back to the basics and perhaps touch on something intellectual rather than emotional (sometimes safer ground).

One of the most basic tools for most alternative health practitioners is the use of kinesiology or muscle testing. Rather than rely on our brains, thoughts and intellectual analysis, kinesiology allows you to tap into your energy system (electrical and muscle) and really figure out what is a match for you. Machaelle Small Wright in "Flower Essences", describes a very simple method of muscle testing- pictures included! She explains kinesology "allows us to discern what we need and don't need despite what we think".

Some practitioners use muscle testing by applying pressure to your extended arm, others use pendulums as methods of "tapping in". You can hold an object up to your chest and if it's "right" for you, you will fall forward, "wrong" for you and you can feel yourself falling backwards. This works particularly well for books in the bookstore when you don't want a wide audience because you can do it very discretely. I know a man who uses this techniques to pick out shoes!! You do have to do some experimentation to discover your "yes and no"- in this case falling forward or backward.

I have found a site that explains all this with the pictures and it's actually taken from Machaelle Small Wright's books and Perelandra. http://www.holistichealthtools.com/muscle.html

You can also find more information on this from the Perelandra website- there are links on my website www.pixiedusthealing.com At Perelandra they suggest you use kinesiology to identify which essences are a match for your body.

Play around a bit with muscle testing. It's fun to work with, doesn't have to be "serious stuff" and yet it can be a powerful tool for health and healing.

Cold & Flu Season

A trip to the mall the other day revealed to me that once again it's cold and flu season! Maybe this isn't so much a "season" anymore...

There are a lot of alternative treatments for colds and the flu- in fact, so many that it can become quite a confusing mix of options.

In my life as an emergency manager, I really support the notion of having a family emergency preparedness plan for illness. I believe this should include having a stored supply of the things you and your family would need if everyone was sick at the same time. That includes easily prepared comfort foods (canned soup, crackers and juice are the easiest to stock- although not the most nutritious) tissues and toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and a supply of the medicines or treatments your family typically needs when they are sick. Having this on hand means you aren't going to the drug store when you feel lousy, are at your most contagious, or the store shelves are emptied out because everyone feels the same way!

The decision on what medicines/treatment options to stock is personal and it's best if you aren't making these major decisions at the time when you actually feel lousy, so some pre-planning for this goes a long way.

There are some good homeopathic combos out there for flu and cold symptoms that are readily available in grocery and health food stores and there are lots of natural home treatments specific for certain symptoms. Colloidal silver can be used to disinfect and is worth researching as well.

Personally, this year I'm stocking up on Perelandra Flu Season Balancing Solution. It is recommended as an immune booster taken before anyone is sick and the dose is increased during local or family outbreaks. It can be supplemented with Immune and Lymphatic solutions as well. A 2 oz bottle of Perelandra Flu Solution if taken as directed should last about 3 months per person. Perelandra products are essence solutions. You can find more information on these products and order directly from their website www.perelandra-ltd.com You can also order any perelandra products through me at www.pixiedusthealing.com

Being prepared for family outbreaks is just good emergency preparedness and like all preparedness plans, once you've considered the impacts and addressed the issues through planning you can eliminate the fear and anxiety.

Be Prepared not Scared!
